Today is the day that I slam my pen down, and stand up to those six letters that have ruled our family's life for a quarter of a century. With my son's permission, I am sharing with you a portion of how they caused my concrete persona to beg at the mercy of professionals in our time of greatest need. How I relived our journey with those equally in turmoil every second of every day until that was the only word I could form or imagine from the second I woke, through the looping in my mind that prevented OUR slumber. This ride with me will be chaotic because in these pages is my version of therapy, my way to release a tiny fraction of what we faced for the very last time, my rebirth as a Mom during a pandemic in complete isolation.
