Albert Davis wrote poems about life and living in the mountains in Chunns Cove, North Carolina. This book, mostly poems, was written beginning in the 1940s and covers a time when everyone was more self-sufficient, and when music, art, and dancing were part of that Western North Carolina lifestyle. His poems were hand-written and read aloud in church, and at meetings of artists and those interested in the arts. Today, they are representative of a lifestyle that is past, but in those hills, in many ways still the same.
