Utilization of oral health services

Dental disease is a serious problem with universal distribution and affecting all age groups. Despite this universal distribution, only a few seek dental care. The most commonly reported barrier in utilization of dental services was low perceived need of the people, which calls for improving their awareness and motivating them to use the services available for them, so they can lead a socially and economically productive life. Many other factors have shown to restrict regular dental care such as dental fear, expense of dental care and socioeconomic factors.
