Use of cell phones and support for producers

Farm advisory services are central to the development of agricultural activities. ICTs are essential tools in the implementation of agricultural advisory services. Our study focuses on the use of cell phones in the transfer of information in agricultural consulting. Thus, an internship was conducted at the DDAEP in the commune of Djougou (DONGA department). Following the diagnostic study of the structure, a study was conducted among producers. Data was collected using a questionnaire from 50 randomly selected producers in the commune of Djougou.The results of the survey reveal that the cell phone is an important tool in agricultural consulting in the commune. It allows producers to have information in real time or to have the advisory agents on time. For the advisors, this tool allows them to mobilize producers, to know their positions and their availability. It reduces the frequency of visits between advisors and producers. Nevertheless, this tool is not required for the advisor in their structures since the advice requires the presence of the advisor.
