Our cities are currently characterized by a disorganized layout. This book entitled "Urban development and planning in Cameroon: from urbanization in the literal sense to the urbanization of information systems" analyzes the problem of urbanization in the country. Its objective is to present the results of a joint research project in urban engineering and computer science. Regarding the first field, it highlights the stakes and the complexity of the problem and suggests to make the intelligences of a territory work together. As for the second area, the main idea is the possibility of overcoming this situation thanks to the availability of data. As long as cities in developing countries, particularly Cameroonian cities, do not have these fundamental elements, they will not be able to move effectively towards optimal and sustainable management. An urban scene where reliable data would be stored in business information systems for more accessible information. This is the mission of building the Yaound? Urban Information Systems Integration and Interoperability Platform.
