As a daughter of two Polish survivors of deportations to Soviet camps in Siberia, I found this book to be excellent in portraying in an interesting way, the difficulties which these people endured and overcame. The book uses the lives of several people whose paths intertwine, to introduce the reader to the common themes of the suffering of the people of Eastern Poland during world war II at the hands of Stalin's regime.. A great introduction to this subject!
