During the Hungarian revolution of 1956, I walked from Hungary to Austria, ending up as a refugee in Vancouver, Canada in 1957. I explore the first sixteen years of my life in Hungary under Russian rule and then narrate the road to fitting into North-American culture via continual learning and adjustment. With my limited language skills when I arrived in Vancouver, I bullied my entrance into university without high school graduation. Then I discovered that I was in the wrong field.
