A peaceful estate-hotel on the east coast of Toscane in Italy, run by an aged American-English couple.
A strange, wild man applies for the offered job of gardener. He fits in, as if he belongs to the terrain.
When the husband dies suddenly, the peaceful ambiance is disturbed. It was already, actually, by a letter from the bank.
Gradually the gardener and a young woman who came for the same job, have to take over. And they have to fight criminal assaults on the property. The gardener seems to be the central rock in the turmoil.
