One of the best business books I've read in the past 10 yrs

I've read a lot of business success books in the past 10 years, but this is by far the best. Dave isn't just an author, he speaks from experience and shares his own pitfalls and successes. This is more than just a book...its a step by step primer for both business neophytes and experienced entrepeneurs. Dave talks about the importance of hiring the right people..and specific ideas on how to do just that. The book is clear, concise and easy to read. Dave really understands the importance of 'leading' rather than just 'managing.' I just bought 20 copies of this book for our key personnel (it will be mandatory reading) and several copies for some of our clients. I will probably purchase more copies within the next few months.

Once again Dave Anderson hit the mark with his simple, concise HOW TO instructions on Successful Leadership. I consider this his best work yet...it gives many examples of real world leadership challenges and then provides a clear and step by step process for correction/improvement. The book's organization allows easy reinforcement of essential steps for implementation with a handy "Up your Business! Action Thoughts" caption after each discussion topic. If you are in a leadership role of any kind and want help in how to maintain your intensity, momentum and progress, buy this book. It is simply terrific!

Right to the point

I just read the preview copy of this book and it is direct, applicable and to the point. It offers very specific ideas from someone who has actually been there and done that. Great stuff. The "six temptations of successful businesses" is right on as is the chapter on corporate welfare and how to weed it out. I really liked the actual interview questions and sample ad to find good people as well. I'm getting one for my other managers.

Preview Copy is Great

If you want an easy to read and apply book filled with real life strategies to make more money this is it. It is harsh on bad performers and corporate welfare but you can't really argue with it. The six temptations of successful companies could be a book itself. The ideas for recruiting and interviewing were very specific. I can't recall reading a book that had so much useful business information all in one spot.
