Almost universal amongst all people is the innate desire to feel wanted, needed or valued by somebody. Equally common is the real or perceived sense that they are not. There are a panoply of circumstances which assault that need. Unwanted is the story of a little girl who found her self-worth independent of others' opinions. I was asked if I thought Ivy ever found her own value? Of course she did. Others may not have understood her, but she knew her dreams and wouldn't live anyone else's.If we base our value on another's assessment of us, we may spend our life unhappy with who we really are at the core of our being. Or, God help us, we can develop a contentment with who we actually are, and more fully enjoy our life.
