Ever since she was 12, Forsythia Viridissima has long awaited her 18th birthday - a symbol of independence and freedom from her controlling and demanding stepmother, Chrysanthemum. However, on this much-anticipated day, Forsythia awakens to find distress and disappointment as she quickly discovers her world has been turned upside down. She no longer has the ability to see other people: only items, animals, and surroundings are visible to her. No people. A rare, fatal disease, Nonoptrimea, has inflicted her, and what's worse, nobody believes or understands. Well, except for her best friend, Daisy. Forsythia and Daisy must set out on the unbelievably daunting quest to find the cure: all while Forsythia is now restricted to using a white cane to navigate her frustrating world. In order to rid herself of Nonoptrimea, Forsythia must achieve a task which will be nearly impossible to accomplish in her current position. Will Forsythia and her aspiring detective friend, Daisy, find the solution to her illness before time runs out?
I sure hope so.
