As a voracious reader, I was pleasantly surprised to be consumed by the book "Unveiled". I spent many hours being submerged into the lives of these unforgettable characters. Since I was once a practicing Catholic, I could relate to their conflicts. Ms. Sline covered many difficult areas besides the concept of the fallibility of the Catholic Church. Healing and finding oneself is the underlying theme of this book. Whether the reader is a lesbian, Catholic or someone who needs to connect with their own hidden demons, Unveiled is a must to include on your bookshelf and refer to it when you need to feel hopeful and whole again. A Keeper
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 17 years ago
This novel is a definite "keeper". Read it earlier and just re-read it. Second time was even better. Paula Sline crafts her characters with care and focus. I wanted to meet Anne Tucker, in real life, the moment I read about her in the first chapter. The challenges for the quartet of Anne, Emily, Dennis and Carol, in this novel, took me, the reader, on an adventure that elicited pain, laughter, love and wisdom born of loyal friendship. The setting in Maine is perfect. The relationships of the characters are real and down to earth. The issues the author has us face are noteworthy and difficult. Sline eases the soul into real solutions. I look forward to more work from this author. A keeper through and through!

A story about the inherent wisdom of love. A group of friends in a coastal town of New England join forces to fight the "good fight" against sexual abuse and for freedom in choices of love and healing. Warm hearted humor of some of the characters helps the author handle a difficult subject along with an insiders eye, integrity and understanding.
