Very realistic women’s fiction

Mia and Bode’s first person voices were powerful, raw, and quite relatable. Their failing marriage with their anger, denial, hurt, depression, confusion, regret and heartbreak touched me deeply. In the midst of busyness and rearing our children, we all lose that connection with our spouse to a certain extent. Mia and Bode’s journey made me realize what loving and holding and cherishing mean. I loved the huge roles their pastor and their Biblically wise neighbor had in guiding them back to the path toward healing and growth instead of destruction. I can’t wait to read about Mia’s younger sister in the next book. If you enjoy thought-provoking women’s fiction that will lead to self-reflection, you will absolutely love this book.
