another poetic marriage of the profound and the simple

Michael Kelly Blanchard has a unique, uncanny way of weaving a tapestry of graceful lyrics, causing you to wrap your mind around a topic once thought simple, with newfound insight into God's grace in everyday life. He helps you empathize with the commonplace things of life, from old age to childhood memories long forgotten to harsh failures, with a introspective view of the human capacity for joy and hurt viewed through the redemptive lenses of God's grace. He seems to look at life from the inside out, often touching nerves where we didn't know we had nerves. Some of his writings "sneak up" on you, releasing pent up emotions. Some songs even seem to create memories that you swear could belong to you. A troubadour for fools and the thinkers. This book expresses some beautiful sentiments that we can all relate to, but buy a few of his CD's and I think you'll be quick to agree he's one of the best kept secrets in the music world, setting social commentary to wonderful melodies and harmonies. A master wordsmith with remarkable musical skill to convey his thoughts in a way that could almost make you know what he's saying before he even sings the words. His voice is a bit like Burl Ives, but his tunes are signature Michael Kelly. Do yourself a favor, and check some of his stuff out!
