Working together to end the Stigma on reaching out for help when it comes to mental health for men. Mental health for men is a difficult subject, it is a harder subject when it comes to the African American male. Throughout history, African American males have been groomed to not show emotion, they are not supposed to ask for help. They have been raised to shoulder the burden of the family and be head of the household. We are now seeing the African American Males working together to remove the stigma. We have a group of 26 men who have come together to share their thoughts, feelings, and experiences when it comes to mental health from a man's point of view. "Today, I focus on using my story to educate and erase the stigma associated with mental health. Conditions within the Black community, especially when it comes to black men because too many f us are suffering in silence." NAMI- National Alliance on Mental Illness.
