Unsent Letters

Written in the first person, the novel focuses on the narrator's successful struggle to resist the temptation to seduce an apparently willing under age female. This takes place within the context of a series of personal disasters: the failure of his marriage, the death of his mother and his father's retreat into dementia. Presented as a series of unsent letters, each letter is a personal response to, and consideration of these events and what others say of his relationship with the girl. The work thus presents the reader with a confronting, but rarely examined perspective on male love, sexuality and obsession.
