It was cold out a few Saturday's ago and, while I don't often have this luxury, I built a fire and curled up with my new find - Steve Sullivan's novel Unquenchable Thirst. I enjoyed it so much (I finished the book that same day) that I decided I had to write this review! The main character, Steven Shaw is dashing and brilliant. The women are portrayed as extraordinarily capable and very smart while still maintaining their femininity, which is quite refreshing. I promise (listen up corporate ladies) all who purchase this book will thoroughly enjoy it! Unquenchable Thirst has the kind of story that hooks you in quickly and leaves you Thirsty for more and I'm looking forward to Steve Sullivan's next novel.

Sullivan's Unquenchable Thirst has championed the tools of business leadership and executive vision into a fast-paced, action-packed adventure story. Sullivan has captured it all. Move over James Bond - Steven Shaw is the superhero of the 21st century. Osoli wine will soon be the choice for all wine afficianados...forget the martini. I'm already thirsty.

Unquenchable Thirst captured my attention from the first line. The story was intriguing and touched on all the colorful aspects of life. Steven Shaw is one of the most exciting superheroes in recent memory. What an admirable charcter! The best part was when I finished the book I realized that Sullivan's novel had integrated an adventure story with lessons of life and practical business applications.

I had a friend give this book to me. At first I thought it would be just another pot boiler. But after reading it, I have to tell you, this is the best read of the millennium. I came away with the feeling that early readers of Tom Clancy felt when they read his first book. I love thrillers, Tom Clancy, Scott Thurlow, James Bond and big global adventure epics like "Noble House." This book blows them away-it combines the best of all these genres and goes way beyond them. The drama involves the captain-of-industry mega hero Steven Shaw and sweeps across continents (on private jets) to take you into the world of the Russian mafia, corporate halls of power and politics. It is different from a lot of books in the genre in that it features very strong and very smart women as well. Unlike Clancy, who isan insurance salesman with a very active imagination, the writer, Steve Sullivan, according to the book jacket apparently was an Army Ranger and international businessman so a lot of the international intrigue and realistic action comes from his own life and what's got to be a very, very, active imagination. But it's much more multi-dimensional than any other book remotely like it. The details of what Shaw eats on his way to catch a train across Spain, mentions of real places and details make it flow like you've been there with Shaw. This book is a non-stop race to the finish-it's a quick and exciting read. If you take it to the beach you will need a seatbelt attached to your beach chair. And take a crash helmet and high speed goggles. The book opens in San Francisco in wine country at a mega-swanky fantasy home with helicopter landing pads, Nobel Prize winners and zooms you all over the world. The writing style is lean and to the point. It moves quickly. At times Shaw gives a few sermonetttes ala John Wayne but that is all part of the character. That is the essence of the book too, it is all about core values and how they propel the hero through everything, like a good John Wayne movie. It's a fantasy world that's fun too because Shaw is the richest guy on the planet so we get to travel in his world with him, even if we didn't cash out as Internet billionaires in the good old days of the New Economy. If you are looking for fun, escape, adventure (and who ain't these days) with a moral backbone, get this book now. I will be waiting to see who plays Steven Shaw in the movie because there will be a movie of this. It's too incredible to remain in just book form. Think Tom Cruise.
