Of all the books of the Bible, this prayer could've been listed in, Why the Chronicles?! In reading through my Bible I reached Chronicles once again. I was thinking to skip over the fathered and the begats sections; let's face it, I can't use them as my quote-a-scripture-in-time-of-need reference, so why bother. So, with hurried eyes I scanned the pages, almost as if I was taking some medicine, which taste I didn't like, and which I wanted to avoid swallowing, if possible; you know, the kind that's good for you. Now, I have read the prayer of Jabez several times, both from the texts in the Bible and the many written books. The prayer holds such an intrigue for me. The thing is, of the many times I read those verses, the several books, the Scripture, and even read through my Bible a few times, I missed the revelation then, but I wasn't going to let it pass this time. Imagine thinking about something, and when it solved itself it seems so simple, but so extraordinary that you can't believe the solution cam to you. You might have a "why me" moment. It is like, you take a verse of Scripture and then another entwines in the thought and you get a, "Wow! This is a real revelatory moment!" But, then you calm down, and you get that feeling that this is your original thought; a moment where something new, like the television, the elevator, or even the bobby pin could be created. A moment where you say, "Ahh." This is "my Jabez moment." Book jacket.
