Am I good enough?
If I'm not, will I ever be?
Do others suffer from my failures? These three are the anthem of the overthinker, the ones constantly questioning not only their actions, but the ripple effects they'll have on others. As an overthinker, I know the pain. For us, it's not enough to know we'll never see someone again; for our own sanity, we have to make sure we left a good impression, as we understand our imprint on others may last forever. Leaving such an impression can be difficult, however, when we don't have the knowledge or confidence to approach others. As good intentions do not always mean in good results, there's a fear that we'll either hurt someone or embarrass ourselves. Regardless of truths behind our uncertainty, once a seed of doubt is planted in our heads, it can form a root that's near-impossible to upend. The self-assured are not immune, either, from becoming third-eye blind. Even those who know the right way to walk, or at least have an understanding of their choices, can be either seduced into egocentrism, paralyzed by their options, or lulled into a sense of familiarity that makes them complacent at best, ignorant at worst. Whatever camp we fall into, however, we should be wary of the Four Dominos: thoughts, actions, relationships, and communication. Like each cog in a machine requires perfect synchronization in order to run, the four need to work in harmony to create a reality we are happy with. If we start with our mentality and let it domino into our actions, which will thence cultivate graduate good relationships, then we will create a circle that we can be proud of. That is, both a circle of friends, and a cycle of thinking that will fill us with a sense of inner peace.
