A mystical, sensual trilogy - beautifully written.

Areia Darenga, former starship commander and maintainer, returns gravely wounded to M'dia to await her life'send. She is taken under the protection of M'landan, the young M'dian boy whom she had met during her first visit to the planet. M'landan is now the handsome high priest of the city and he has never forgotten her. A sensual journey follows; love, trust, religion - all wrapped up in great dialogue. (We should all be so lucky to find someone to speak with us as movingly as M'landan.) Francine Mezo is an excellent writer and it seems that she intended further adventures, but I haven't yet found any other books by her. Unfortunately, this trilogy is now out of print and may take a while to locate. One final thought re: book #3, "No Earthly Shore." I looked for almost 10 years to find it and when I finally read it I became so saddened by last half that I moped around the house for 2 days. Well, if the mark of a good book is to make you think, I certainly did that. Oh return, Francine Mezo, and reunite the One-who-far-journeys with her wise High Priest!
