great book--I've heard a new one is coming soon!

This is a captivating book that really keeps your interest. Wow what a story. I, too, cannot wait for the next. I contacted iuniverse and they tell me the next is soon to be out. Keep on the lookout before fall is what they are saying.

Could be the next "Cold Case" just like the tv show

After reading the deputy sheriff now has some closure, I had to buy and read Unlawful Betrayal for myself. It was certainly worth my time and kept my attention. I was a bit thrown off as to whether a trial had taken place yet according to the deputy sheriff's review, or if that was a clever piece of clairvoyance on the author's part fiction based on a true story. In any case, I would recommend this book. It's interesting, and a fast hard ride. I can't wait to read the next book of this series. Does anyone know when the second book will be out?

The deputy sheriff now has some closure

I am writting in reference to the book and would like to thank the author for giving me some closure. I was the deputy sheriff who investigated the county attorney's secretary's murder with assistance from the chief of police. We did a joint investigation since the apartment was close to the city and county line giving us both jurisdiction. The investigation was not complete and we were denied a autopsy and also denied having the bureau of criminal investigation to assist us.We should have went over their, the sheriff and county attorney's heads and asked for a state investigation. We had three suspects; two county officials and one officials wife. We were denied the autopsy by the county attorney and the sheriff. I have worried about the non completed investigation for all these years. Thank you for writting this book; I now have some closure. To those who think it is bad for someone to talk about their parents. I feel it was time for someone to let the public know the problems that the children had with what the adults were doing. No one came to the assistance of those children and the misery they endured. As for the disgrace to the city ;the city was like any other city. Some of the people in the city and county were what the problem was. I was given a award by the county attorney for making the most felony arrests in the county by a officer. Writing a book about what happened in the city and county isn't a disgrace to the city or county. Again, I am glad this novel was written and would recommend it to anyone. Everyone needs to read it. I also after reading the book am wondering why I wasn't called to testify; I didn't know a arrest had been made and a trial had occurred. It makes me wonder again about the system. Those investigating should have testified..... thank you again for the closure

Presents itself like the novels of Peyton Place

Unlawful Betrayal defines how your choices in life can seriously alter the lives of the very ones you call family. There is no room for misinterpretation with this book. It is obvious that if this family and town had performed these "stunts" in today's world, that the "parents" of this book or "someone else" would be going to jail for child endangerment or worse. I do hope this author continues to write all of the series, as I look forward to collecting everyone of her books. Who knows what's in the making here. Anyone who can muster up the courage to move on from something this out of control, and write about it, after all this family went through, may have more good literature up their sleeve.

Fast read after you get throught the prologue

I had a hard time getting through the graphic nature of the prologue but once I made it through, the story moved quickly. Jill is a good villain who really manipulates everybody she is in contact with to improve her own situation with no consequence to anyone else. I look forward to reading other books by this up-and-coming author!
