The unknown world is a metaphorical story that tells about a young lesbian girl who grew up in rural areas and she narrates the story about her world. This book is set in Lady Frere in Queenstown, Eastern Cape around 20th century. The author captured the lifetime events of our protagonist Noxolo Mkhonto. She was a brilliant young mind and yet to suffer with all heterosexual normative of this world and she had a mother that has disability complications in hearing or speaking
Noxolo has shown resilience and love in her character and the story of her love for her best friend Cynthia. There were circumstances that made Noxolo to move from Queenstown to Cape town for better life. This change will it end the love that she has for Cynthia.
