This book covers, in great detail, the tanks built & designed by the US like no other. It gives you everything from experimental prototypes to strange production variants.While most books about tanks focus only on how or where they were used, George Forty combines the raw facts of military records with some first-hand accounts of the men who rode in the beasts. Thus giving you a sort of before and after look at why & what these tanks were created for. The purpose of the initial request for the vehicle isn't always what it is used for, as you'll read.The pictures and illustrations are of very good quality. They cover experimentals, mock-ups, battle damage, you name it. Definitely a book for WWII tanks buffs.
