United States Navy Aviation Centennial 1911-2011: NAS North Island Centennial Aviation Kick-Off

The US Navy celebrated its 100th anniversary of naval aviation in 2011, and to commemorate that event, they have painted an entire fleet of Centennial aircraft. These were revealed to the public at the Centennial of Naval Aviation Kick Off Air Show at NAS North Island on February 12, 2011. This book showcases those aircraft, along with the impressive Parade of Flight.Special scheme aircraft include the Bell TH-57C Sea Ranger in 1916 markings, Beechcraft T-34C Turbo Mentor and McDonnell Douglas T-45 Goshawk in yellow wing era markings, TC-12B Huron, Grumman EA-6B Prowler, and Lockheed S-3B Viking in two-color 1940 camouflage, Boeing EA-18G Growler and Sikorsky MH-60R Seahawk in three-color 1943 camouflage, F/A-18C Hornet in late-war gloss sea blue camouflage, MH-60S Knighthawk and F/A-18A Hornet in post-war sea blue camouflage, T-6B Texan II in trainer yellow, HC-130H Hercules in 1950s Coast Guard markings, P-3C Orion in 1950s patrol aircraft camouflage, F/A-18C Hornet in gray and white camouflage, HH-60H Rescue Hawk in Vietnam-era green camouflage, and the F/A-18F Super Hornet painted in the pixelated Navy Working Uniform scheme. Other aircraft include the McDonnell Douglas AV-8B Harrier II, Northrop F-5E and F-5F Tiger II, and General Dynamics F-16N Fighting Falcon.
