This book is devoted to the classification of the irreducible unitary representations of the Poincarè group. The classification of the irreducible unitary representations of the Poincarè group consists of two big parts. 1)The classification of the irreducible unitary representations of the 4 little groups 2) Mackey's theory of induced representations. Wigner proved that all irreducible unitary representations of the Poincare group are induced representations, where the induction starts on a certain closed subgroup of SL(2,C). The subgroups that occur are called little subgroups of SL(2,C).. For example, SL(2,R) and SL(2,C) are litle subgroups. The classification of their irreducible unitary representations is quite involved and covers more than a half of the book. The two other litlle subgrups are easier.
