Very Comprehensive discussion on a most important theological topic

Argueably the most foundation damaging view in christian circle is the gap theory. It eats away at the self esteem of man. I decline to use revelation to describe this theory because it certainly wasn't a divine knowledge. This is all man's theory to explain that the earth's state isn't his fault but the fault of this or that or this person or that. Every christian should spend time studying about this theory and there is no better place to start than this book. Quite comprehensive, he talks not only about the theory but the subsequent other erroneous theories that have come out from this gap theory. Other books can be too technical especially examination of the Hebrew language concerning the words used in Gen 1:1-2. This book treats this in just a few chapters and spends time on other items. The author looks at the various scriptures quoted by gap theorists to justify their postulation, he exposes the sense knowledge, e.g "darkness upon the face of the deep", what is wrong with darkness? Especially in the context used here. Darkness doesn't mean something bad everytime, after all we have nights. Was night a result of the fall of man? Of course not, read the book and find out more. He also looks at items like the 24hr creation, the age of the earth etc. My conclusion with plenty of revelation from God is that this earth was created exclusively for man, we are not using any refurbished goods, we are the first time users of this earth. It has transformed me such that I can say with confidence, "I am a son of Man". How many people say that? I hear I am a "son of God", I don't hear I am a "son of Man". Yet Jesus said it a lot in describing himself. Read this book and pray for revelation and perhaps God will reveal what it means to be a "son of Man".
