Unexpected Choices

Life is full of choices; some are expected and some are not. When they are orphaned by the death of their parents, twelve year old Mattie is put in charge of her brother and sister by the words of their dying mother. Mattie fears that the foster care system might put them in different homes. But instead of running away, she chooses to let their friend, Nick, hide them in a vacant barn. When Sarah, the owner of the barn, discovers the children, Mattie again chooses not to run away as Sarah takes them in as foster children.
