Unequal But Fair 1

This novel portrays the life of a young man (Clement) in search of meaning in life. He lost his father when he was still in Junior School, leaving him and his sister with the mother as the sole care giver. The puzzle of life brought doubt to his young mind about the fairness of life. He met another young man, Bayo, while in the university who is experiencing similar fate but with a more positive disposition to life. Bayo had lost his mother at a young age and his father, a peasant farmer is chronically ill at the village. He lives in the home of a big cousin in the city from where he gained admission to a government university. Bayo became a strong influence in Clement's life but as it is common with men, old habits die hard.
