This is the story of Johanna and Gunter, moving across Canada to start a new life. They want to leave all bad memories behind, after having lost their house, got defrauded and she had a miscariage. But not even Vancouver has a red carpet. Just when things look up, Gunter walks away from everything; the marriage and his new job. The burden of the past weighs too heavy on him and he chooses to confront his deamons. At some point, he even goes back to Europe to find his own father. But when he reaches his deathbed, he stubles into a deeper mystery. Eventually, he will return to Johanna a changed man.
