A Second Chance: in a new world

As we wend our way through life, we are continually confronted with crossroads, or forks in the road, obliging us to make a decision as to the path should we take. Most decisions have little to do with the kind of life we will lead, but some are of the utmost importance. A different path could have taken us on a completely different journey, perhaps better, perhaps worse. With hindsight, it is easy to see the paths we should have avoided, but sadly past mistakes cannot be changed. But what if we had a second chance at life, would we make the same mistakes again? Simon was given such a chance.
Like so many of his peers, his early life had obliged him to go down paths that he would not have chosen, but later when he could make his own decisions he often took the wrong forks in the road with disastrous consequences. But then, in an extraordinary way, he was offered a second chance at life in a new, different, world. The question was: would he make the same mistakes again, or would he be determined to live a different life? That was a question that only Simon could answer. Hopefully one day, like Simon, we also may have a second chance at life.
