Underwire: 100 Dystopian Monologues for Women

In this book, in the not too distant future, the differences between women and men devolves into outright war. Women, united in the belief that war and capitalism are male philosophies, embrace AI and enhancing computer implants as they struggle to complete the incarceration and eradication of males in a crumbling war torn world. For readers, these monologues combine to tell an interesting story of an unthought-of future. They are also designed for theatrical performance and audition. A selection of thirty or so monologues would make a fascinating evening of theatre. Maybe this is a book of one hundred short stories. Maybe it's a novel. Whatever it is, I hope you enjoy it. The monologues are works of fiction. These are the viewpoints of one hundred fictional people in a time of turmoil. Some viewpoints may seem extreme. They are parts of a complex story, rather than a demonstration or invitation to hateful stereotyping. It broke my heart to write these. I've always believed that stories, theatre, movies, poems- everything- are all about relationships. So many people now days seemed fascinated with dystopias. But all the relationships are broken or threatened, and the dark sad feelings in some of the monologues kept me awake many a night, grieving. I don't know what the future holds. Can we not learn anything from fiction or the past?
