Understanding Palestinian History: A Basic History Lesson

By: Education, Clifford's

Understanding Palestinian History is an age-appropriate introduction to the history, culture, and experiences of the Palestinian people. Beginning with ancient Palestine and continuing through the Ottoman period, British rule, the Nakba, the 1967 war, the Intifadas, the Oslo Accords, and the challenges Palestinians face today, the lesson presents key events in clear language for children and teens. It also explores Palestinian food, traditions, religion, family life, and the experiences of Palestinian children. Above all, the lesson encourages young readers to approach history with curiosity, empathy, critical thinking, and respect for the different experiences of both Palestinians and Israelis.
