However, there are many concepts in a nonprofit that do not exist in a for-profit company. This book will not make you a nonprofit expert, but it will make you aware of what to look for and it will help you understand why nonprofits do some of the things they do. The book gives a broad understanding in many areas and in other areas, it goes into depth with lots of details. After reading this book and you decide to take a position at a nonprofit, you will not have to approach your duties with a blank stare. Keep your book handy and use it like as a resource for about the first three weeks. You will be glad you did! This is not hard stuff to learn, but unless you already have some nonprofit experience under your belt, you will need to learn very fast what makes a nonprofit work.
