The remaining chapters are organized under the following topics:Procedural Framework of TrialRelevancyWitnessesReal and Demonstrative EvidenceWritingsHearsayPrivilegesSubstitutes for EvidenceThis treatise extensively discusses and cites the Federal Rules of Evidence. Great Book

This was an excellent supplement for my evidence class. Easy to understand. I thought it was a better book than Examples and Explanations

Very good

On average I have been very satisfied with the "understanding" series and this book on Evidence is no exception. The topics are laid out in simple fashion with straightforward explanations. In retrospect, I discovered that it helps to have a basic knowledge of the topics before delving into the deeper intricacies of Evidence law. This book is very good in laying out the basic framework from which to build. In short, it lives up to its title. In my opinion, the difficulty in teaching Evidence is that the pieces don't fit together until the end of the course. For those having difficulty in Evidence, I would recommend buying this book and if possible going through it first and then going back to the required text in class. In retrospect, I wish I had done so at the beginning of the year rather than waiting toward the end. I would not recommend this as a stand alone text however since the material is presented in such a compact fashion.
