Underground

A native of Iraq, Michael Paul began his life as a dedicated Muslim. At the age of twenty-three, through the witness of a friend, and the miraculous intervention of Jesus Himself, Michael Paul surrendered his life fully to the One True God, Jesus Christ. As a result of his unwavering commitment to his new faith, he was persecuted by, and eventually lost all contact with his family. Through his journey, he has suffered multiple kidnappings, and has been physically tortured many times in an effort to convince him to deny his faith in Jesus. On one occasion he was held for four days, hung by his hands, which were tied behind his back, for long periods of time, and beaten nearly to death. As a result of his proud service as an Arab/English interpreter to the U.S. Military in Iraq, Michael Paul was eventually granted security clearance, and by the grace of God, received his green card and permission to come to the United States. He now serves as an ambassador for Christ to Muslims and the world. The letters contained in this book were written during the two-year period that Michael was in hiding, hoping and praying to obtain admittance to the United States, underground and homeless in the Middle East. They were, at times, his only communication and outlet to the outside world.
