"A tall man, wearing a large, white hat, will bring great change into yer life."So says the old gypsy who reads the palm of ten-year-old Fiona Hennessey. Fifteen years later, Fiona and her da, Patrick, rent the upstairs of their Irish Bed and Breakfast, to a new tenant; an artist from Oklahoma, specializing in the "Old West." His trademark is a big, white cowboy hat. Jim Hawkins, the artist, lives in Oklahoma City with his Irish grandmother, Tess Schneider. Due to exhaustion and stress from his busy schedule, Tess insists that her grandson go to her beloved Ireland to rest, and walk, and paint the images of this ancient land. While Jim is gone, Tess's thoughts turn to her first and only love, Michael Farrell. It has been over fifty years since they were separated by her father's move to the United States. Memories surround her. In desperation, she books her own flight to Ireland in hopes of finding him. The unexpected arrival of Fiona's brother, Billy, and two of his partners in crime, soon have the village of Killamor and the Hennessey family embroiled in trouble and murder.
