Under The Gaze of Ganesh

The Patel family are East Indians from Kampala, Uganda, who eventually emigrate to the United States and settle in the Bluegrass region of Kentucky, in the year 1991. First generation Indian-American siblings Vikram and Indira are successful academically, and Vikram pursues a Ph.D., but he soon develops Muscular Dystrophy, while Indira marries a fellow East Indian medical student named Yamir.

When Vikram uncovers an insidious plot by Yamir and his mother to kill Indira, Vikram confronts him, and in the struggle, he drowns in Cave Run Lake.

Vikram is revived by a herd of elephants from a nearby traveling circus. He is now able to channel the form of the Hindu god Ganesh, along with harnessing the essence of Ganesh's power. He vows to save his sister from the murderous plan set forth by Indira's mother-in-law, Anali, and Yamir.

Embarking on a thrilling and dangerous journey, Vikram is introduced to people, places, and events that he never anticipated, one that may lead him back to the land of his ancestors
