Review of Undead Much

Stacey Jay has once again delivered a wonderful book in the Megan Berry series. Undead Much? is a little darker than the first book, You Are So Undead To Me, but still has it's lighthearted moments. Ms. Jay has a gift for delivering true to life revelations that real people go through in a wonderful story that keeps you sucked in from the beginning. If you enjoyed the 1st book, You Are So Undead To Me, you will love Undead Much?!!

As good as the prequel!

I really enjoyed Undead Much? And although I'm not sure which book I liked better, this one or You Are So Undead to Me, I found this another refreshing book from Stacey Jay. I was worried there might be a little repetition in the plot, but there wasn't at all. Megan had all new adventures and there were a lot of new secrets uncovered about Megan's past. Some of her old enemies came back to haunt her, and she became more powerful. The main plot was intriguing, but I really liked a lot of the sub-plots as well. I don't want to give anything away, but there were new mysteries revolving around Megan's dad, Jess, and Settlers in general. In You Are So Undead to Me I felt like Settling took a back seat for more normal things- like the romance between Ethan and Megan. In Undead Much? it was the opposite- Settling was the main plot, and Ethan and Megan's relationship only came into play on occasion, and I liked it that way. It was easier for me to understand what was going on in the zombie world and I enjoyed reading the scenes with Megan and Ethan without feeling overwhelmed. The zombie genre is really taking off and I'm looking forward to reading more books about the undead in the future. The ending of Undead Much? also left room for another book in the series. There were a lot of cliff hangers that left me wondering what was going to happen. The ending was great, but it definitely left me wanting the sequel! Jay's writing style is funny and refreshing and Megan's first person narrative really kept the story moving. All in all I would definitely recommend Undead Much? to fans of You Are So Undead to Me and anyone who hasn't read the first book, you definitely should! In addition, the cover is really cool- I love the couple hugging against the white moon. The zombie hand rising out of the ground definitely adds to the effect! Reading with Tequila

I sincerely loved this book. With wit, biting sarcasm, teen angst and supernatural elements, Undead Much? has a familiar Buffy the Vampire Slayer feel that enthusiastically leapt from the page and into my heart. It had the perfect mix of deadly peril and fluffy humor that drew me in and kept me entranced from start to finish. While the second book in a series, Undead Much? is perfectly capable of standing on its own. I had no problem following the story, although I do regret missing the first book and am currently dying to read You Are So Undead to Me. Megan Berry is highly entertaining both while kicking zombie butt and while stressing about going to second base. Undead Much? is made of serious twists, some romance, a huge amount of action and pure awesome.

Great second book in series!

My Thoughts: So, after I finished You Are So Undead To Me, I was hoping Undead Much would be just as good as the first one. It was and so much better! Once again, we are introduced into the world Of Megan and her zombie settling! In this book, more magic goes down and everyone is blaming Megan. Could she really do this? Or is she innocent? Joined by Ethan she has to figure out the truth behind her past. Why didn't her parents tell her all the secrets about their family history? Can she even trust her parents? Why did they lie to her all these years? We also meet Cliff. He's a new friend of Megan's but he's a zombie! I felt a little guilty because part of me liked that Megan was hanging out with him, even though I still really like Ethan. You can tell Cliff has feelings for her but than there is Ethan, her amazing and gorgeous boyfriend. I loved this book as much as the first one and I wanted to keep reading even when the book was over. Such a cliffhanger at the end, I really hope there's another book coming out soon. What happens to Megan, does she break up with Ethan for Cliff? What are her family secrets? Did she do the crime everyone is accusing her off? If you like zombie books and even if you don't, pick this one up now! Overall: Loved it. This is one of my new favorite series! I adore Ethan, and even find myself swooning over Cliff a little bit. Cover: Love the cover! To me, its gorgeous! Love the way their arms are overlapped and even their clothes are gorgeous!

Great sequel that left me hungry for the next installment

I'm not sure that there are any zombie books out there that are quite like Stacey Jay's. I never really thought that zombies could be both fun and horrifying at the same time, but Jay somehow pulls it off! I also never thought I'd join the zombie craze, but I did - and it is definitely because of YOU ARE SO UNDEAD TO ME and UNDEAD MUCH?! UNDEAD MUCH is the sequel to the above mentioned novel, and you really do need to read the first installment to fully appreciated the second book, in my opinion. I think that, for the most part, readers will still be able to figure out what is going on, but they won't really connect with the characters as well or fully understand their motivations, thoughts, etc. I wouldn't have been nearly as torn about the "undead psychic hottie" and Megan if I hadn't read the first book, which developed Megan and Ethan's relationship. As with YOU ARE SO UNDEAD TO ME, this novel is full of zombies, action, and a hint of mystery. Jay balances Megan's normal everyday teenage life with that of supernatural zombie settler like it's a piece of cake, which makes her novels more appealing to those reluctant zombie novel readers, like me. The romance in these books is really well written. I like that Jay leaves some tension between the characters. In the first novel it was almost unbearable - I wanted Ethan and Megan to be together so badly; they were just so fun to read. I was afraid, however, that the second novel wouldn't be quite as fun, but I was wrong. Jay mixed it up and she doesn't rush the characters into anything, which I really appreciate. Plus, it is kind of hard to have a relationship when you are fighting off undead that are out to kill you. Or so I imagine. UNDEAD MUCH? was an amazing second novel to Megan's story and left me wanting MORE! Jay wrapped up the story, but left so many loose ends and I need to know what happens next. She succeeded in wrapping up the story while simultaneously leaving the reader with questions about just about every aspect of Megan's life. I highly recommend both of Jay's novels, but be warned: once you start, you won't want to stop. Then you can come sit with me and wait the unbearably long months to read what happens next! :)
