From calorie charts to insurance claims

Unclog Your Arteries: How I Beat Atherosclerosis is the personal testimony of Gene McDougall, a man who used diet changes, vitamin supplements, prescription medications, basic lifestyle changes, and more to recover after his own clogged arteries nearly killed him in a heart attack. From calorie charts to insurance claims, Unclog Your Arteries is filled with useful forms and advice, and a welcome, highly recommended supplement (though emphatically not a replacement for a doctor's diagnosis and advice) for anyone who needs to improve their heart health and quickly.

Bypass Prevention Made Easy

This is an excellent guidebook for those who want to avoid heart bypass surgery. Case in point - page 28 lists the cholesterol component target numbers needed to reverse artery clogging. That page alone is worth the price of the book many times over. I also appreciated how easy the book was to read, understand and put into practice. I was afraid it would be filled with all kinds of incomprehensible medical terms, but it was written in plain, everyday English. There were even blank forms to photocopy and use in keeping my medical records organized. For people who are lazy or easily overwhelmed by a complicated or unpleasant regimen, this book is a dream come true. The author even explains how it's possible to control weight without counting calories.By skipping over the charts and tables, it took less than 45 minutes to read this book the first time. I say the first time, because I have read it several times. It has turned out to be a great reference source - it even has extra-wide margins for writing notes. From now on, when the occasion calls for it, I'm giving this book to my friends as a "get well" gift, instead of cards or flowers.
