Uncle Howard's Ashes

By Mary Jackson Meyer

Ginny and Tessa, sisters at odds since high school, face their greatest test when Uncle Howard's mischievous Last Will and Testament is read. His dying wish is for the sisters to reconcile-and he's set the stakes high: $100,000 high. Ginny, retired and dreaming of travel, must put her plans on hold to take the helm at Cherrie's Ice Cream. Not only does she inherit the business, but Howard also has one last request: Ginny must keep his ashes close, literally, until she fulfills the terms of his will. Ginny discovers that money is disappearing from the company's accounts, while Howard's battered urn leaves a trail of ashes wherever she goes. Tessa is outraged to inherit her uncle's pampered Jack Russell terrier, Oh Danny Boy, who arrives with his entourage. Her frustration turns to intrigue when she learns of the dog's $1.5 million trust fund-only to find that everyone wants a piece of it. Ginny's business woes and Tessa's canine conundrum reveal a common threat: both accounts are dwindling, and their only chance to secure their inheritance is to raise $100,000 for charity. Amid outlandish schemes and hilarious moments, Ginny and Tessa must learn the true meaning of forgiveness and teamwork, proving that family is the biggest adventure of all.
