Scottsdale Inn Under New Management

Dar Tomlinson has a unique way of pulling the reader into a story, which may not even be the type they usually read. I know this happened to me. Her remarkable descriptions of familiar places, escorted me through them again with a new vantage point. The qualities and nuances of her characters touched me deep inside. So real you could reach out and touch each one and pull them close to your heart. When Cameron Vickers first steps foot into the Salt River Inn in Scottsdale the electricity begins and the reader is unable to turn off the switch until Cameron and Jay Lukas Wind Dancer verbally pledge their love in the end. Tension runs through every page of this exceptional suspense filled mainstream. The reader cheers for Cameron as she learns to stand up to her family, despairs as her cat escapes the confines of her enclosed patio, cries as the Inn's roof collapses trapping two workers under the debris. Dar's abundant knowledge of Native American issues is astonishing. She flavors the book throughout with incredible intimacy. If you want a title that keeps you up all night - buy this one!

compelling characters

I was drawn to this book set in the the beautiful state of Arizona because of the characters. I particularly enjoyed the way the leads began to know each other. They were each behind walls, and the way the author brought them out- a little at a time- was wonderful. One really feels as though she can touch the leather of Lukas' belt (among other things...). This man has sensual power! You can feel the heroine's frustration at being in a situation just out of her control. One applauds the heroine as she comes to take charge of her life!A Great Read -Enjoy
