Unbound: A Survivors Story Through Poetry: Volume 1
Unbound: A Survivor's Story Through Poetry - Volume I is a raw collection of poetry born from the places we are often taught to keep hidden.
Through childhood wounds, abuse, controlling relationships, grief, abandonment, betrayal, and the painful realization that love can sometimes become another kind of cage, Emily Davies tells the story of what it means to survive while still searching for yourself beneath everything that has happened to you.
These poems do not romanticize healing. They live in the darkness before it.
They speak to the woman who was told she was too much, too emotional, too loud, too difficult, too bright. The woman who learned to shrink herself to keep the peace, carried other people's burdens as though they were her own, and confused endurance with love. They confront the people who promised safety but delivered pain, the families and relationships that perpetuated old wounds, and the devastating moment when survival finally demands something more than simply staying alive.
At its heart, Unbound is about the breaking.
Breaking patterns.
Breaking expectations.
Breaking silence.
Breaking chains.
And somewhere inside that breaking, light begins to enter.
Volume I does not tell the story of a woman who has already healed. It tells the story of the woman standing among the shattered pieces, finally realizing that she is allowed to choose herself.
This is not yet the happily-ever-after.
This is the moment she becomes unbound.
