Umbrella in Time is a children's novel for age 8 and over about a girl called Rachel who finds a Victorian umbrella in her father's office. It takes her back in time to the Second World War, and then to Victorian London, where she meets previous owners of the umbrella who are linked to her family in the present. In a series of adventures she travels through time, to find a missing ruby necklace which will help her father, whose firm is going bankrupt. A future owner of the umbrella finally appears, to solve the mystery. Will the umbrella give up its secret?
