Useful book

"The Ultimate Proof of Creation" used the Bible as the ultimate standard, quoted Scripture, and used logic, so of course I liked it. The book mainly focused on using logic as the foundation in our discussions with unbelievers and even gave a two-chapter course in logic. If this sounds intimidating, I'd encourage you to give it a try anyway though it might take some time to absorb all of the information. Dr. Jason Lisle gave plenty of practical examples of how to apply the lessons. The appendix was also full of real-life e-mails he's received and he walked the reader through how you could respond using the information in the book. He also applied logic to some creationist arguments to show which ones were valid and to demonstrate how to create a sound argument for the Bible and for the Christianity. Though the book gave the ultimate proof, not everyone will be automatically persuaded by it (since some people are convinced by bad arguments and others won't be convinced by good arguments), so don't expect that. But it will help with anyone not already dead-set again Christianity. I'd highly recommend this book to all Christians. The author stated that the book could also be read by non-Christians, but I'd recommend using the arguments in the book rather than handing the book them. Though "irrational" may be the correct logic terminology, most people reject the argument before they've had a chance to think it over when their not-clearly-thought-out position is proven logically unsound or invalid and promptly declared an irrational belief as Dr. Lisle sometimes did. No Absolutes an Absolute Statement, and other logical fallacies

The post-modern world is rather fond of saying that there are no absolutes. A logical counter to this is to ask the relativist whether his statement about absolutes is absolute. He is in the difficult position of refuting his own claim whenever he states it. In rational debates this breaks the law of non-contradiction. For several years, since reading Christian apologists like CS Lewis and Ravi Zacharias, I have been convinced that there is only one internally consistent worldview, and that is the biblical worldview. All other explanations of reason and existence cut the ground out from under themselves. Either the beliefs themselves are self-refuting, like the man who tried to disprove the existence of air; he was using air as he tried to deny it; or they reduce to absurdities; or they never really deal with the fundamental questions, but rely on borrowed but unadmitted presuppositions from other worldviews. In the final case, we consider their beliefs to be arbitrary, rather than rational. My explanation could not have been termed with such clarity without first reading Dr. Jason Lisle's new book, The Ultimate Proof. Creationists have plenty of evidence for the biblical history of the world. They have evidence contradicting the evolutionary and uniformitarian theories of origins. Bible-believing scientists are even doing real science all the time (science of observation and technological advancement to improve our lives), just as they have done for thousands of years. None of these things convinces a man committed to a naturalist worldview. But no naturalist can debate against the Bible, for evolution, or conduct science of his own without assuming things that can only be true if the things the Bible teaches are true. This is the ultimate proof, to engage skeptics on their worldview. This method has several advantages. First, it keeps in mind that the motive for Christian apologetics is to glorify God and to invite non-Christians to be saved. Thoughtful meekness is what the Bible directs us to have when responding to critics. The Bible also teaches that if we do not live consistently with our beliefs, our critics have reason to ridicule us and those beliefs. Consistency is a biblical tactic. Second, the Bible does give instructions for debate. Dr. Jason Lisle has applied two verses in Proverbs to his debating style. Do not let a skeptic convince you to fight on neutral ground when the question you are debating is inherently about the reliability of your ground as opposed to all others. For a Christian to abandon, for the sake of argument, his belief in God and dependence on the account of the Bible, is to surrender before he has even lifted his sword. But we can do an internal critique of the skeptic's position, making apparent where he contradicts himself or leaves questions unanswered. Don't Answer, Answer... (Proverbs 26:4 & 5)

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this well-written book. It takes care to address the entire context of the argument. Oftentimes, when I have a discussion or agreement with someone, the disagreement or misunderstanding stems from the unstated assumptions (or presuppositions). I find that once the presuppositions are all addressed and meanings are defined, a rational discussion is much more profitable. This book clearly provides a Biblical pattern for defending the faith. It is a clear, concise pattern that is applicable to any debate. As Romans states, much of the world suppresses the truth that they don't wish to admit. This book is an excellent description of how to use the sword (see Ephesians ch. 6). It also clearly shows how God (a maximally good God) in His infinite wisdom, created not just a physical & spiritual world of beauty and wonder, but a logical and rational world that allows men to pursue knowledge. This book can prepare you for the time that is coming (the end of time) when all these things (knowledge, man's creations, technology) will vanish, but God's Word alone will remain. As the author so clearly states (and as other reviews have proved), the evidence alone is not sufficient to persuade. However, the author clearly addresses the impact of a person's collection of presuppositions ( worldview) and shows how the Biblical worldview is the only rational worldview. It isn't the author's creation. It is God's creation that is rational. The collection of presuppositions, the laws of logic, the uniformity of nature, the absolute morality presented in the Bible, all combine in a singularly rational way with no contradictions. If you as a scientist have fully committed yourself to the study of all these areas as well as the science you state, then I'd be glad to have a discussion with you regarding this book. If you haven't fully studied these areas as defined in the Bible, you are arguing from a point of ignorance (willful or not)! Stellar logical presentation. This man knows his stuff. He's a logical, rational brainiac who has done his homework. You'll note the angry, angry Atheists are hard at work bashing a book they haven't read and know nothing of. They parrot what they've heard without ever researching it themselves. Their ratings are dragging the rating of this great piece of work down. (Besides, anyone who claims to know everything, everywhere is someone to run from, not listen to ;-) Buy it. Read it. Check his work and reasoning for yourself. Then, like ex-Atheist Anthony Flue, follow the evidence where it leads.

And I always thought 'FACTS' were the ultimate proof! I was so wrong.

Up until the time I read this book, I have always assumed that 'FACTS' were the solution, the answers I and others needed to hear. For me, what more needed to be said, when something for example was pinned as being 47 billion years old (Ida; ABC News), and knowing there is not a piece of equipment known to man, capable of measuring time much beyond 6,000 years, let alone millions or billions of years; common sense would simply take over and move me to my next learning curve. But in all honesty, I would become so frustrated as to why an individual would look beyond the simple, undeniable facts that were starring them in the face. Ultimate Proof of Creation Then Dr. Jason Lisle told me why, in his Ultimate Proof of Creation and for the first time in my own twenty plus years of study, my eyes were witnessing the ultimate proof of common sense, superseding all fact previously presumed to be the answer needed. Was I wrong! In a very modest, humble and respectful, but bold manner, Dr. Lisle delivers as promised the unquestionable and irrefutable, 'Ultimate Proof of Creation'. Ultimate Proof of Creation Whether you're a creationist, naturalist, atheist, theistic evolutionist, empirical evolutionist, relativist, an agnostic, or whatever, this book is the last book needed in respect to knowing, literally, the ultimate proof of creation. There is an old and wise expression: "the mind is like a parachute, it only works when it's open." To approach this book while avoiding said expression, is to remain in the ignorance of the ignorant; as a dog returns to its own vomit, knowing no better.
