Let me begin by saying Stan Fischler is one of my favorite characters in all of hockey. From Stanta Clause to The Maven, he always has a way of bringing a new twist to the lovable sport of hockey. That twist is what created a unique book that was very entertaining and informative. There are a lot of interesting interviews to read, some in Q and A format, some in normal narration. There are also some great pictures of some fierce battles and an interesting rating and ranking system that Fischler has put together. The pictures, stories, interviews and rating system combined with Fischler's colorful analysis mix well to produce a nice book for any hockey fight fan.
Different, but good

This was not what I expected. Mainly it contained interviews with Enforcers, ratings of fighters, and a few sections on reigning champs. Overall it was pretty good and interesting and I would recomend it if you are looking to find out more about some of the individual fighters in the NHL.
The Best about the NHL's Worst

Having read two previous editions of Fischler's Bad Boy's series, I had high expectations. Needless to say, Stan delievered. There are in-depth conversations and rating systems of every top NHL fighter in the league right now. There are spots that are targeted for the Old War horses - Domi, Twist, and Probert - and the new young guns - Langdon, Cairns, Stock, Johnson. This is the best book in the series. I could not put it down. If you love the fighters, but this book. I will bet my life that you will love it.
An honest way to make a living...kinda...

Fischler has done well with this book. I personally have been waiting for someone to do an in-depth study of the people behind the intimidation tactics in professional hockey. This is an outstanding work that not only goes into the the psychology of the guys that duke it out on ice, but also into the various reasons why it's necessary for fights to occur in hockey. I really don't like unnecessary violence, but after reading this book, I can understand why fighting is an essential part of the game and should not be banned. Furthermore, it's great to get a behind the scenes look at the guys who do this kind of thing for a living. Most of them come off as being very honest, intelligent, and savvy people. This is a great book to get into, if you want a clearer understanding of what fighting in hockey is all about.
