Ukali: A black life rises

A female African American soldier, Ki has been held back, degraded and put down so many times that she has all but given up. She has resigned to be a normal, regular soldier. Afraid of failure and the bigotry that has been heaped upon her, and haunted by dreams of superior power, then enter a species of humanoid amphibians, the Maji who come to earth for help fighting a war on their planet. Their only weapon that only a chosen few blessed by God, that they call Sky can use. It is a spear of electric energy. Ki touches a spear by accident to find she can use one. She is whisked off along with a small number of humans to train and help the Maji. Ki through a massive explosion gains the power in her dreams. But still fearful of failure, loss of faith in herself and God. Ukali becomes her mentor, helper and the one to give her the strength she will need and rekindle her faith in herself as well as God. Because now, with this new power Ki has an entire world looking to her as their savior.
