Best of the bunch

I had been looking for a good book of reproducible Bible maps and charts for use in Bible Classes for a while. The reviews I read were pretty sketchy, so I finally bit the bullet and bought three different books by three different companies: Regal, Nelson, and Tyndale. None of them were bad, but one stood out as the best. Regal's "What the Bible Is All About: Reproducible Maps, Charts, Timelines, & Illustrations" was basically just the same maps, charts, etc. that are in NIV Study Bibles, plus some illustrations suitable for a children's Sunday School class. While the perforated pages were nice, it was generally not what I was looking for. "Nelson's Complete Book of Bible Maps & Charts" was trying too hard to do too many things. It has some decent maps and charts, but an awful lot of the book is consumed with Bible commentary and outlines. I already have textual commentaries... I really wasn't looking for more. Add to that the fact that it's difficult to get a clean photocopy/scan out of the book, and the whole thing was rather disappointing. "The Tyndale Handbook of Bible Charts and Maps" was absolutely perfect for my needs. It has lots of material. The maps are clear and easy to read. The charts cover useful topics that you will likely want to cover in an adult Bible class. And the sections of commentary are presented in condensed tables suitable for handouts or teaching from. Best of all, the accompanying CD includes high-resolution PDF's of the ENTIRE book. You can print out a crystal clear copy of any page, or cut/paste any element into Powerpoint without the hassle of tearing out pages, making photocopies, or scanning into the computer. Simply put, this book is the PERFECT Bible Class resource for any pastor or teacher.

This book was very good for what they wanted. Very nice to use in classes.

Excellent Bible and Geographical Reference!

With over 500 charts, 200 maps, and a topical index, the Handbook of Bible Charts and Maps is an excellent resource for anyone who wishes to learn more about the Holy Bible! In Handbook, information on each Book of the Bible includes: 1)theme, 2) explanation and background, 3) importance.I have often referred to the Handbook when trying to describe a particular geographical area when presenting a Bible study lesson. The maps are well-written and are not overly detailed nor vague. All in all, a highly recommended resource. Buy and enjoy!

Fantastic quality and value

The book is much more than I hoped. It is well-organized and has synopses for each book Genesis to Revelation. Major themes are expounded very well. Good detail and information. A must-have for teachers and pastors. The entire book is repeated on the cd but it is on Actobat pdf which I personally don't find very user-friendly. This book is worth much more than $13.99!

A Bible Study Must Have!

This book is a wonderful resource for everyone interested in Bible Study. I think every church library should have this in the very least. For less than [$$] retail, you have detailed maps and charts to help you better understand the Bible. When I saw the word "charts" on the front cover, I was picturing a bunch of little tables with a bunch of references to people and places. These books contains so much more. Most of these charts that are useful to any Christian, whether new or well seasoned. Some of my favorites include "Making Choices in Sensitive Issues" (based on 1 Cornithians 10:32), "The Tweleve Disciples" (Mark 3), and "Time to Pray" (Acts 3:1). Although I haven't yet read this book cover-to-cover, I can tell you it is a refernce suitable for every Christian. One of my favorite features is the CD-ROM that contains .pdf files of all the materials in the book, including the maps in full color. I see myself using that feature in my group Bible Studies.
