It is New Year's Day January 1, 1941 and 17 year old Prince Petar II is going out of his mind, with the help of absinthe and opium, while WWII rages all around his Eastern European Kingdom with Nazi Germany now surrounding him on all sides. While he answers to no one but the voices in his own head, he is completely powerless when it comes to making of the decisions for his own Kingdom until he becomes King on his 18th birthday, nine agonizing months away. He wants to be King right now, so he can personally tell Fuhrer Hitler to go suck a loaf of Spotted Dick, but instead it is his Uncle Prince Paul, as well as the Prime Minister making the diplomatic decisions. By mid-March it is the opinion of his uncle and many members of Parliament that the only way to save the Kingdom, is to sign the Pact of Steel with the Nazi's as Hitler is demanding of them under the threat of force. Petar and many members of the military are against allying with the Nazi's but it is in the hands of the politicians, so the young Prince is left with no choice but to travel with the royal delegation to the heart of the Third Reich to watch as his Prime Minister signs the pact allying his Kingdom with Nazi Germany. Petar returns to his palace late that night and at 4 in the morning he turns on the radio to hear HIMSELF claiming that he is ascending to the throne early! Little does he know that the military has enacted a coup, overthrown the government and decided to make him King overnight. Suddenly he has everything he ever wanted, but when Hitler finds out he grows enraged and immediately orders Fuhrerdirective #25: Operation Punishment. Within two weeks the Nazi Blitzkrieg is nearly complete and he must escape his own Kingdom before the Nazi's capture or kill him. His Royal Convoy is ambushed by an advanced scouting party with all of his guards being captured or killed as he is narrowly able to escape by hiding in the drainage pipe of a nearby industrial plant. The Nazi's move on and he is left entirely on his own for the first time in his life, with a shot up car, a pistol, and only eight hours to drive 250 miles to the other side of the war-torn country to catch the final flight out of his Kingdom before it capitulates to Nazi Germany.
