In 1650 Sasaki Rui was a warrior without a war. Her clan was on the verge of extinction, and she had negative amounts of interest entering into another failed marriage. On her father's dying wish, Rui moved to the Asakusa district of Tokyo and opened a dojo exclusively for women to train in the sword art of Kenjutsu. Kosugi Konoshikono was a samurai, and second born son of a bodyguard to the daimyo. When gang activity started picking up in Tokyo, Konoshikono was tasked by his uncle, Commissioner Ishigaya, to take care of things. Particularly, he focused on the Shiroe Gang, infamous for their female membership. When Rui starts training Konoshikono's little sister Kaori, in her dojo, Konoshikono takes keen interest on the female sword master. Rui is less than ecstatic with the samurai presence and even more annoyed by the army's stay in Tokyo. Rui's students can't help but fall for the samurai lingering in the streets causing tension. Despite their similar stations in life, Konoshikono is uneasy with his cousin Baisho Jin staying in Tokyo with the army. Baisho is a charmer, but when he clashes with Rui, it might be his last mistake. Will Rui and Konoshikono be able to work together to make Tokyo safe, or get cut down in the streets?
