TSG is a story about two uniquely individuals from two different walks of life- Devon, a twenty -seven year old heterosexual black man from the hood; and Ricky, a twenty-two year old openly gay, cross-dressing Latino man from the suburbs- and their exploits before their fall from grace leads them to cross paths in the most unlikely of places: a prison cell.TSG opens with Devon engaging in relations with one of his lady friends, which ironically culminates in question of her fidelity. Devon is looking for love, yet with each failed encounter, begins to question if there really is such a thing as a monogamous relationship in this day and age. Through hustling drugs, to being on the run from a parole violation, Devon takes to the streets with a take -no-prisoner mentality, until one of many streets snares catch up to him- a robbery and brutal gunning down of one of his close associates. Ricky, on the other hand, is totally unconcerned with the stability a monogamous relationship can offer. He's only after one thing-money. Specially, money from powerful white businessmen who can align himself with to help him fulfill his goal. Ricky has his scheme down to science, mastered the art of manipulating men as easily as he styles his unisex wardrobe, yet a strange twist of fate lures him into danger which his street suave skills helps him to detect from a mile away, yet becomes too tempting to resist- a notorious drug dealer and his offer of riches if Ricky smuggles drugs for him. As an openly gay Latino man who had various dealings with down-low thugs in my past, I believe TSG captures vividly the unspoken of eccentricities in such relationship, and delves much deeper than merely shinning light on the snares associated with the drug game, down-low lovers, or the gay men complicit in fulfilling their desires. TSG, under the surface, is a love story- the uniting of two souls, jaded and hard-hearted on the idea of love, finding it in someone they would have never looked for it in, and in place they would have never suspected. Book 1 covers Devon and Ricky's parallel lives into hustling and failed relationships culminating in their meeting while they were both doing time in a state penitentiary. Book 2 picks up there Book 1 left off with Devon and Ricky struggling to sustain a relationship neither of them thought they would ever be in, all with Ricky balancing his new love with a notorious fling from past. It is my sincerest hopes that you receive and review this proposal favorably and contact me at your earliest convenience to discuss working together on this project.
